Egg donation with Premium Egg Donation is a rewarding process. You will work with exceptionally professional, supportive and compassionate staff. You will also be assured incomparable compensation for your time and generosity.
Premium Egg Donation prides itself on our exceptional donor database. Our egg donors are women between the age of 22 and 30 who are healthy, athletic and are attending, or have attended, a well-credentialed graduate school program. These select egg donors are highly intelligent, as reflected by their outstanding G.P.A's, GRE, LSAT, MCAT and GMAT scores. Additionally, our donors are absolutely committed to the egg donation process.
Why should I donate my eggs?
A kindness remembered is the seed for many acts of charity.
There are thousands of women that cannot become pregnant using their own eggs. The reasons for this vary from previous disease, chromosomal abnormalities, early menopause, premature ovarian failure, or simply poor egg quality. However, intended parents are able to conceive by using donor eggs from younger more fertile women through a process called in vitro fertilization (IVF).
Becoming an egg donor is a unique opportunity to help women fulfill their desire to become pregnant. Egg donors give intended parents the chance to have a gestational bond with their children and to have some knowledge and choice over their children’s underlying genetics. Giving the gift of a family will only take a small amount of your time but will provide a lifetime of satisfaction and happiness to your recipients.
In addition to the personal satisfaction you will get from helping to create family, you will receive the most competitive egg donor compensation for your inconvenience and time. Additionally, all of your expenses are paid by the recipients, including legal expenses and travel expenses for you and your companion.
You will find your experience with Premium Egg Donation rewarding. Many donors refer their friends and family to us to become egg donors as well. Premium Egg Donation compensates you for all other young women referred by you that qualify for our egg donation program.
We look forward to working with you on this extraordinary experience!
We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. Winston Churchill
Egg Donation Application Process
The egg donor screening, evaluation and matching process takes some time. You must be willing to remain an available candidate until a match is made. If, for some reason, you no longer are eligible as a donor, we will remove you from the donor database immediately at no cost to you.
Egg Donor Prescreening Questionnaire
The application process begins with a pre-screening questionnaire. The on-line questionnaire helps us to determine if you meet our egg donor criteria.
The second step in the screening and evaluation process involves a long-form application. The application seeks detailed information about you, which will be used for your donor profile should you qualify. All of the information you provide about your education must be verified with certified transcripts from your college or university. Entrance exam scores are also verified.
Egg Donor Profile Page
If you are selected as a prospective egg donor, you will be invited for an interview with a Premium Egg Donation staff member who will discuss with you the donation process in detail and answer any of your questions.
We will also help you prepare your on-line donor profile and photo gallery. Your profile will be posted on Premium Egg Donations' web site for prospective parents to review.
Once you are matched to a recipient, you will begin the process of an egg donation cycle.
Once you are approved a an egg donor and matched with a recipient, you will undergo a medical evaluation with either a fertility specialist near you or with the recipient's endocrinologist. The evaluation will entail some blood tests, a pelvic exam and a trans-vaginal ultrasound as well as a short psychological evaluation. Assuming the evaluation indicates satisfactory clinical ranges, your next menstrual period will usually become the starting date of your egg donor cycle.
On day 21 of your cycle, you will begin a series of oral and injectable medication, which you will take for approximately three weeks. The injections are small (subcutaneous) shots used to stimulate egg maturation within your ovaries. A nurse will demonstrate how to administer the shots to yourself.
During this time, you will also be scheduled for 30-minute regular appointments with an IVF specialist to monitor your progress on the medication and to ensure that your ovaries are being stimulated properly. You must reliably communicate with the IVF nursing staff to ensure that you have instructions on how much medication to take.
Depending on your recipient's decision, you travel (with a spouse or companion) to the recipient's fertility clinic several days before your scheduled retrieval. (Sometimes the recipient will travel to the IVF clinic nearest you). The actual egg retrieval procedure requires sedation administered through an IV. A vaginal probe guides a small needle through the vaginal wall to reach the ovaries and retrieve mature eggs. The IVF physician will retrieve between 10-20 mature eggs, which are donated to your recipient. The procedure takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes. Because of the sedation, you will need a ride home or to your hotel after the egg retrieval.
After the donated eggs are collected, they are combined with sperm in the IVF laboratory which will result in viable embryos. An appropriate number of the viable embryos will be transferred to the recipient's uterus. Any remaining embryos may be frozen for a future transfer, donated for research or destroyed, depending on the recipient's decision.
Egg Donor Compensation
Recognizing your unique credentials, P.E.D.I. egg donors are compensated at a higher rate compared to most other egg donation agencies. First time donors are compensated for their time and inconvenience in the amount of $10,000. Repeat egg donation cycles command an additional $500 fee per cycle.
The American Society of Reproductive Medicine has issued a guideline limiting the number of egg donation cycles to six. Many, but not all, endocrinologists adhere to this guideline. Some IVF doctors, however, will recommend additional donation cycles depending upon your specific condition. Thus, your first donation cycle will command a fee of $10,000, your second successful cycle will command a fee of $10,500, and so forth.
After your initial physical evaluation confirming your eligibility to donate, you will receive a $1,000 payment when you begin the fertility medication. The balance of your fee will be paid upon completion of the egg donation cycle and retrieval procedure.
In addition to the donation fee, all of your expenses will be paid by the intended parents. Those costs include the physical evaluation, blood tests, medicine and clinic visits. Additionally, your legal fees for review of your agreement with the intended parents are paid in full. Should you need to travel to the recipient’s IVF clinic, travel costs for you and a companion are covered including hotel, airfare, meals, and transportation.
The egg donation fee you receive is considered taxable income by the Internal Revenue Service and PEDI is obligated to report this income to the IRS.
I've donated twice to the same parents through PEDI, and am happy to know that together we helped create the family that they had always dreamed of! The entire process I felt like I was in good hands, with constant contact between myself and my cycle coordinator, Lauri Harris, and any and all questions being answered in both a timely and kindly fashion. They truly care about all parties involved in the process of an egg donation and go out of their way to make you feel part of the PEDI family. I definitely recommend PEDI as an outstanding donation service with a caring staff who are experienced, effective and exceptional. Thanks for everything!
